Starting an Overnight Hike

We were supposed to hike Mt. San Gorgonio but no one seemed to notice you need to apply for permit 3 weeks in advance. Instead, we are off to fishbowls. My pack weighs over 35 pounds. I tried to get it lighter but that is difficult when most of your gear is borrowed. I can't believe I am doing this.
