Okay, I must say potty training boggles the mind. Is it me, my daughter, or the stupid day-care? So, if i have not summarized our potty dilemmas in the past, let me start with the fact that Sofia is almost 4. She started using the potty over 2 years ago and was doing very well with the pee. Dry at night since she was about 18 months old. Then the prior day-care started having issues with her not being completely potty-trained prior to moving on to preschool. I know I started to obsess. i think the school was doing some questionable punishments for her accidents, because her toileting became much worse until I pulled her out of the day-care and started her at another one with no toileting deadlines. Things improved. But she still had accidents daily for the next year. I again started to get frustrated that Sofia could be dry at home but seemed to always be in a pull-up when I picked her up from school, sometimes after an accident, but suspiciously sometimes in a pull-up and underwear with no wet clothing. I talked with them and was frustrated by their policy of two accidents in a month required the child to where a pull-up. How retarded is that rule?
But this week, I am again frustrated. I spent 7 days with Sofia this past week and she did not have a single accident!!! i did not always remind her to go either. She usually told me! She even spent many hours in an exciting kids program with many distraction on the cruise and still did not have a single accident. So tell me, do you find it strange that already this week she has had an accident each day she has gone to day-care? I just do not understand who is at fault here, but I am not leaning towards my daughter as the one at fault!

Seeking Feedback
Okay, I picked up Sofia from day-care this afternoon after work. I was driving over to the laundromat to put the pee comforter into a large capacity washing machine before running over to Emma's school to pick her up. Sofia starts to ask me for food. She then says, "Mama, you did not pack me anything healthy today!" I start to think something is not right. I stop the car and check Sofia's back pack and find her lunch still perfectly packed in the paper bag with her name written on the front! So I am confused as to why she did not eat her lunch. I call the day-care, but no one is there from lunch time and they have no idea what happened. Sofia is starving and eats her entire lunch in about 15 minutes.
This evening I begin to unravel the events and I find myself still frustrated with the day-care, although my husband feels it is not their fault. Please feel free to share your opinions below!
So, the suspects and their contributions follow:
Myself: This morning when I went to pask Sofia's lunch box, it was nowhere to be found. Once I stopped looking, I packed a sack lunch, labeled it with her name, and placed it in her school backpack.
The Husband: Now he tells me that when he took Sofia to day-care, he noticed her lunch box sitting on the floor of the classroom so he attached it to her backpack and hung both on her cubby hook.
Sofia: I am told that the children are asked at lunchtime to go get their lunches and bring them to the table. The day-care feels that since Sofia brought back her regular lunch box even though only filled with ugly banana and old cookie, it was fair of them to assume that was her lunch that day.
The day-care teacher: Okay, not exactly first-hand facts, BUT...Sofia was sick for over a week, so that lunch box was sitting on the floor of the classroom for a full week since her last day at daycare was a week ago! They apparently supervise lunches, and did not think it strange that I would pack an old brownish banana and a oatmeal cookie for her lunch! She apparantly ate the banana and left the cookie, which when i saw it was a hard week old oatmeal cookie.
Okay. So please share your opinions. Am I unrealistic to expect that a day-care teacher would supervise a 3-year-old's lunch and even if she did not think to check the backpack for her real lunch, would supplement the supposed crappy lunch with something else and/or contact the parents to inquire/suggest a banana and cookie is not sufficient? They did not even give her a drink!!!
Thank you for your feedback.

Argh...It Continues...
So what do other parents do with no back-up day-care? So Sofia still have a fever yesterday and was barred from day-care today. Not a strange occurrence for most parents. But, my husband left for New York very early this morning on a business trip for the next 3 days. My parents, who are my usual back-up, were still in Laughlin. I could not even call in sick to work for family leave because the attendance witch hunt is still in force and any and all absences are scrutinized at present and we have been told notes from physicians are no longer accepted as a means of excusing an absence. So how could I call in sick for my daughter who today actually was in good spirits with hardly any fever at all, but is just not allowed at day-care?
All I could come up with on short notice was a call to my boss as I left work yesterday to ask if possible at all to approve last minute vacation day for today, or if not, could I come in late with my kid in tow. Of course, no response from my boss until late this morning. Luckily my parents called this morning and said they would drive home today and would not mind coming straight to my house and watching Sofia so i could go in to work. So that is what happened. I did have to wait until almost 2 for my parents to make the drive from Laughlin. I must say I owe them big time. My boss came through for me as well allowing me to come in so late, but I still resent the fact that I am afraid to call in sick even for a legitimate illness!
